When and how do I pay?
Once you make your reservation request, we will confirm availability and send you a PayPal invoice for 30% of your total. You will pay the balance at the time of your tour using cash only either in USD or Pesos. To approximate your balance in Pesos, divide your US Dollar balance by .91. No credit cards are accepted at the tour. ATM machines and Money Changers are readily available in Playa del Carmen. Notify your bank prior to leaving the US if you plan to use your debit card for cash. (Recommended)
We have a family of four with two adults, one child 14, one child 9. How do we ride the ATVs?
The minimum age to ride single is 12 years old. The minimum age to ride double is 5 years old. In your case there are three options.
- Each adult rides single and the 14 year old rides with the 9 year old double. You will be riding three ATVs.
- Each adult rides with one of the children, so you will be riding two ATVs.
- One adult and the 14 year old ride single. The other adult rides with the 9 year old. You will be riding three ATVs.
What if it's raining or cold?
The ATV tour operates rain or shine no matter the weather. Some people find the ATVs tremendous fun when it's wet and muddy. We seldom get cool days in Playa, but if you catch one we recommend a sweatshirt or light windbreaker.
What time of day is best for the ATV Tour?
That really depends on your preferences. If you're an early riser, then the early tour will be cooler particularly during the warmer days of summer. If you like to stay out late clubbing, then you might want to book a later tour. Some people book the early tour so they can still get several hours on the beach. Make your reservations early so you can get your preferred ATV Explorer tour time.
I've never driven an ATV. Can I do it?
Yes, many riders are first time drivers. That's part of the fun. You will receive instruction on operating the ATV. If you are anxious about driving, perhaps you should team up with a family member or friend who wants to drive. If you ride double, you must book your reservations together as riding double. You'll also save a few dollars in the process.
Do I have to bring my own snorkel gear for the cenote dive?
No, everything you need is provided including refreshments. You might want to bring a towel and wear a swimsuit.
How much is transportation.
Transportation from Playa del Carmen and Playacar is $10.00 USD or 100 pesos per person. Transportation from Puerto Moreles is an additional $5.00 USD. Your transportation charges are paid at the time of pickup.
Can I just take a taxi?
Yes, you are welcome to take a taxi. Your taxi driver will be familiar with the location. The entrance is a couple miles south of Sam's Club on the Federal Highway on the left side of the road. The entrance is clearly marked with a sign that says ATV Tour Entrance. 100 pesos should get you there.
Can I take both the F1 Offshore Explorer Tour and ATV Explorer Tour the same day?
Yes and save some money. You can take the morning ATV Explorer tour and afternoon F1 Offshore Explorer tour or take the morning F1 Offshore Explorer Tour and the afternoon ATV Explorer tour. The combined rates are:
